Seoul: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's anticipated visit to South Korea is not expected to occur soon, as stated by the presidential office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, discussions had been underway between South Korea and the United States to facilitate a visit to Seoul by Rubio in the upcoming week. Rubio was reportedly planning to visit South Korea and Japan before proceeding to Malaysia for a ministerial meeting with Southeast Asian nations.
"South Korea and the U.S. had been discussing the possibility of Secretary Rubio visiting Korea, but due to internal circumstances in the U.S., a visit in the near future appears difficult," a presidential official stated. Despite the current situation, the official confirmed that both nations will continue consultations on high-level exchanges.
