Seoul: Local businesses and research and academic institutions will join hands to promote the industrial use of quantum technology, a fast-evolving technology that is expected to transform many industries, the industry ministry said Tuesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, an industrial forum of quantum experts from local enterprises, startups, and academic and research institutions was held in Seoul as part of efforts to promote the development of the cutting-edge technology and its commercialization. The forum sought ways to apply quantum technology in computing, software, and various other industries, support related research and development (R and D) projects, and foster new talent in the sector.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated that it will continue discussions with experts in the field and build infrastructure to promote the development of the quantum industry.
