S. Korea Aims to Integrate AI Technology into Defense Sector

Seoul: The defense ministry of South Korea has announced its plans to expand the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology within its defense sector. The initiative is aimed at enhancing military commanders' decision-making capabilities in combat scenarios and supporting defense-related policy development.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the details of this plan were deliberated in a meeting chaired by Defense Vice Minister Lee Doo-hee. The focus was on how AI technology could be effectively utilized to construct an AI-powered military. The ministry intends to establish an AI-based system that will assist commanding officers in making informed decisions during combat situations, as well as aid the defense minister in long-term policy decisions.

South Korea's pursuit of AI technology in the defense sector is part of a broader strategy to create a military force that is both leaner and more intelligent, leveraging advanced technological solutions.
