Paris: South Korea co-hosted an international forum focused on the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris this week, as reported by the finance ministry on Tuesday. This event marks the third Korea-OECD Seminar on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the seminar, held on Monday, centered on discussions regarding the role of public institutions amidst the rapid expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) economy and the challenges posed by climate change. A significant portion of the dialogue was dedicated to exploring methods to enhance the efficiency of state-owned enterprises through the adoption of digital technologies.
In addition, the forum addressed strategies for responding to climate change. Seoul presented its initiative to create guidelines on environment, social, and governance (ESG) specifically for state-owned enterprises, as shared by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
