Sacheon: Senior Air Force officials from South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a letter of intent for cooperation on South Korea's KF-21 fighter jets, as announced by the South Korean Air Force.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Lee Young-su and Maj. Gen. Rashed Mohammed A. Al Shamsi, the commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence, formalized the agreement during their visit to Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd., the manufacturer of the KF-21, located in Sacheon, approximately 290 kilometers south of Seoul.
The preliminary agreement allows the UAE Air Force to observe air drills involving the KF-21 and to visit South Korean units that will operate the fighter jet. The KF-21 is scheduled for delivery to the South Korean Air Force next year.
