Seoul: South Korea offered condolences Tuesday over the massive earthquake in Afghanistan that killed more than 800 people. "We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the numerous victims and bereaved family members from the earthquake," foreign ministry spokesperson Lee Jae-woong said in a commentary.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 6, struck Afghanistan's eastern region on Monday, impacting the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar. The disaster resulted in more than 800 fatalities and injured over 2,800 individuals.
Lee Jae-woong emphasized South Korea's commitment to collaborating with the international community to support prompt recovery efforts for the affected areas.
