Goyang: The state arms procurement agency of South Korea has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Brazil’s aerospace company, Embraer, aimed at expanding industrial cooperation between the two nations. This strategic agreement was finalized on the sidelines of the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2025 held at KINTEX in Goyang, just northwest of Seoul.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the MOU outlines collaborative efforts to increase the participation of South Korean parts suppliers within Embraer’s global supply chain. Furthermore, it opens avenues for the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer to engage in defense projects within South Korea, marking a significant step in bilateral defense relations.
Embraer, since its establishment in 1969, has delivered over 9,000 aircraft globally. The company has been making significant strides in the military aircraft sector, particularly with its C-390 Millennium transport aircraft, as highlighted by DAPA. This MOU is expected to enhance the cooperation between the two countries in the aerospace and defense industries.
