S. Korea to Construct Smart Farm in Saudi Arabia by December

Riyadh: A South Korean consortium will construct a smart farm in Saudi Arabia by December for pilot operation, Seoul's agriculture ministry said Tuesday. The 2,000-square-meter smart farm will be built in Riyadh and will utilize various agricultural technologies, including advanced farming robots and environmental control solutions.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the smart farm marks the fourth overseas project by the Korean consortium, following successful constructions in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and Australia. The consortium is composed of four South Korean companies, including Nongshim Co. and KS Farm.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs stated that it aims to expand the export of Korean-style smart farms to the Middle East. The ministry highlighted that the region has accounted for 60 percent of Seoul's smart farm construction deals over the past two years.
