Seoul: South Korean football star Son Heung-min has appeared in the popular online shooting game Fortnite as an in-game character, the title's publisher Epic Games announced Monday. Fortnite players can purchase the limited-time Son character in the game's item shop from Monday through Saturday. The character is featured with a uniform themed on his team, Tottenham Hotspur, and includes his signature face mask.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Epic Games' collaboration with Son is part of the company's expanded efforts in the South Korean market, which were announced earlier this month. The company recently introduced localized content featuring K-pop stars, including BTS' Jungkook and Jimin. Additionally, Epic Games has hinted at a forthcoming partnership with the Netflix series "Squid Game" in anticipation of its third season.
