Seoul: South Korea's exports rose slightly from a year earlier in the first 10 days of this month, data showed Tuesday. Outbound shipments reached US$14.9 billion in the Feb. 1-10 period, up 0.8 percent from $15.01 billion tallied over the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, imports gained 0.3 percent on-year to $17.1 billion during the period, resulting in a trade deficit of $2.2 billion. The data from the Korea Customs Service highlights the modest increase in exports alongside the slight rise in imports, contributing to the trade deficit observed in the early part of the month.
