SABAH STUN HOSTS KDNFC TO GRAB ALL THREE POINTS

KOTA BHARU: Kelantan Darul Naim FC’s (KDNFC) hopes of a home win were dashed when they were edged 3-2 by Sabah FC in their Super League match at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here tonight.

Both teams went on the offensive right from the first whistle and it was Sabah, under the guidance of coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee, who drew first blood when Gabriel Peres tapped home the opening goal in the 25th minute.

KDNFC import striker Chadrack Muzungu had a good chance to level the scores but fluffed his lines when Sabah goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat saved his penalty attempt in the 32nd minute.

Muzungu also had another ‘goal’ chalked off a minute later as the ball had gone out of play earlier.

In the second half, KDNFC equalised through South Korean Kim Likwan, who headed home a corner kick in the 55th minute.

Sabah then pulled away to make 3-1 with two goals in six minutes, with Stuart Wilkin scoring from outside the box in the 63rd minute before Ramon Machado bagged the third in the 63rd minute with a simple
tap-in.

Although South Korean Bae Kyeong Hwan nodded home a free kick in time added on (90+1 minute) for KDNFC, it proved futile as Sabah held on for the victory.
