Samsung Electronics Acquires U.S. Digital Health Firm Xealth to Expand Health IT Ecosystem

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced its acquisition of U.S.-based digital health technology company Xealth, aiming to enhance its health care information technology ecosystem.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics revealed that the acquisition agreement was signed recently, with the process expected to conclude by the end of the year. Xealth, which was originally a digital health care startup spun off from Providence Health System in 2026, provides a platform that integrates various digital health tools and care programs for health care providers.

Xealth has established a network with over 500 U.S. hospitals, including Advocate Health and Banner Health, and collaborates with more than 70 digital health solution partners. Samsung Electronics anticipates that merging its advanced wearable technology with Xealth's platform will enhance the connection between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making.

Samsung has been focusing on investing in wearable sensor technologies, which are crucial for continuous wellness tracking, as part of its broader strategy to create a digital health ecosystem that bridges wellness and medical care. The company believes that the acquisition of Xealth, with its extensive expertise and health care network, will accelerate its efforts to support health systems and digital health partners through connected care, as stated by Roh Tae-moon, president of Samsung Electronics.
