Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Heads to U.S. to Support Trade Talks: Sources

Washington: Samsung Electronics Co. Chairman Lee Jae-yong has departed for the United States in an effort to support ongoing trade talks between Seoul and Washington ahead of a key negotiation deadline this week, sources said Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, key South Korean officials, including Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol, have been gathering in Washington for last-minute discussions with their U.S. counterparts. These meetings are crucial as President Donald Trump is set to begin imposing "reciprocal" tariffs on major South Korean exports starting Friday.
