Samsung Electronics Enhances Smart Home App with New Safety and Automobile Connectivity Features

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced an update to its smart home application designed to enhance safety features and connectivity with automobiles.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean technology leader has integrated safety-focused features into its SmartThings app, specifically aimed at assisting seniors. The updated app enables users to share their location through smartphones and tablets when it detects potential safety threats or health issues, providing an added layer of security and peace of mind.

In addition to safety enhancements, the update improves the app's connectivity with automobiles, thanks to a partnership with Hyundai Motor Group. This integration allows users to manage various car features, including air conditioning, engine start, and electric vehicle charging, directly from the SmartThings app.

Jung Jae-yeon, head of Samsung's SmartThings team, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering a unique AI-driven home experience by continually expanding services that cater to customer needs.
