Gyeongju: Samsung Electronics Co. is set to showcase its innovative trifold smartphone on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit this week. Industry sources reveal that this unveiling will occur during the K-Tech Showcase sub-event, where Samsung will present its latest technological advancements, including the highly anticipated trifold smartphone.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the new device will be displayed behind a protective glass case, with comprehensive specifications slated for release in late November or early December. This cutting-edge smartphone is engineered to fold into three sections, providing a tablet-sized display when fully opened while retaining the compactness of a standard smartphone when closed.
The anticipated price for Samsung's trifold smartphone is expected to be in the upper 3 million-won range, equivalent to approximately US$2,090. This estimation is based on the pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which launched in July at 2.37 million won for the 256GB model. Initial production is projected to range between 50,000 to 100,000 units.
The APEC CEO Summit, taking place in the southeastern city of Gyeongju, gathers around 1,700 participants from APEC member economies and global corporations to engage in discussions on significant economic topics, including artificial intelligence and the energy transition.
