Seoul: The state weather agency on Monday issued the season's first heat wave warning for all parts of Seoul.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the warning was issued as of 10 a.m. by the Korea Meteorological Administration. It marks an early onset of extreme temperatures, coming 18 days earlier than July 25 of last year, when the country experienced the worst heat wave ever recorded.
A heat wave warning is declared when the highest sensible temperature is expected to reach 35°C or higher for two or more consecutive days, or when significant damage is anticipated from the heat. This early warning signals potential challenges ahead for residents and authorities in managing the heat.
