Seoul to Host International Streaming Festival to Boost Global Collaboration and Investment

Busan: The science ministry announced plans to host an international festival aimed at promoting South Korea's streaming industry and attracting global investment in the sector.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the International Streaming Festival is set to commence on August 22 and will run for four days in Busan under the theme "Streaming What's Next."

The event is co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Busan city government. It aims to facilitate exchanges among businesses related to the streaming industry, including streaming service providers, content creators, and artificial intelligence companies. The government intends to support local businesses in expanding globally and attracting foreign investment through this event.

The science ministry has organized various side events, such as an award ceremony for over-the-top content and artists. The ministry stated that this year's festival will provide a platform for global exchange and collaboration among OTT operators, free ad-supported streaming television platforms, AI technology, and content businesses.

The ministry expressed hope that South Korean companies would discover new opportunities in the global market and share their innovative capabilities worldwide to advance further.
