Seoul: SK Chemicals Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net profit of 8.2 billion won (US$5.9 million), marking a 60 percent increase from the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company stated in a regulatory filing that despite the rise in net income, it experienced an operating loss of 963 million won for the April-June period. This is in contrast to the operating profit of 8.9 billion won recorded a year earlier. Meanwhile, the company's revenue saw an increase of 44.2 percent, reaching 596.9 billion won.
