Seoul: South Korean chipmaker SK hynix Inc. and Naver Cloud Corp. have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in response to the increasing demand for high-performance chips from data centers. The collaboration aims to optimize the synergy between hardware and software, which has become crucial for the competitiveness of AI services.
According to Yonhap News Agency, under a memorandum of understanding signed recently, SK hynix and Naver Cloud will initiate tests of next-generation AI chips in operational data centers. This collaboration focuses on enhancing AI response times and reducing operating costs through joint research efforts.
SK hynix emphasized the importance of securing products validated in real-world environments as a means to strengthen technology leadership in the global AI solutions market. The partnership with Naver Cloud is expected to enable the development of high-performance chips tailored to market demands.
In addition to their joint research, SK hynix and Naver Cloud plan to file patent applications and participate together in global AI conferences, further solidifying their commitment to innovation in the AI sector.
