Seoul: SKC Co., a South Korean chemical materials producer, on Wednesday reported its first-quarter net loss of 117.8 billion won (US$82.3 million), maintaining its position in the red compared with a year ago. The company's financial struggle continues as it faces ongoing challenges in its operations.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it sustained an operating loss of 74.5 billion won for the January-March period. This figure shows a marginal increase compared to the operating loss of 72.3 billion won recorded during the same period last year. Despite the losses, SKC managed to achieve a 10 percent increase in sales, reaching 438.5 billion won.
The financial performance of SKC highlights the difficulties faced by the company in navigating the market conditions. The rise in sales indicates some positive momentum, but the persistent losses suggest that the company is still dealing with significant operational challenges.
