Frisco: Son Heung-min has scored his first goal for Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) three matches into his U.S. career. Son lasered in a free kick stunner to open the scoring in the sixth minute against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday (local time).
According to Yonhap News Agency, this was Son's third match in Major League Soccer (MLS). He was brought in off the bench in his LAFC debut against Chicago Fire FC on Aug. 9 and then made his first start against New England Revolution a week later. Son picked up his first MLS assist against Revolution before finally getting his first goal against FC Dallas.
After Denis Bouanga was fouled just outside the box, Son stepped up to take the spot kick. The South Korean superstar curled it over the wall and into the top left corner, past the diving goalkeeper Michael Collodi. Son has yet to play at home since joining LAFC, but his presence has been drawing sizable Korean crowds at every road stop so far. Against FC Dallas, Son heard loud cheers virtually every time he touched the ball, and the volume went up several notches after he got his first MLS marker.
