Lima: South Korea will assist Peru and Colombia in improving their road infrastructure and land management systems through its official development assistance (ODA) program, the transport ministry said Monday. A ministry delegation will visit the Peruvian capital of Lima on Tuesday (local time) to attend a ceremony for Seoul's 830 million-won (US$611,100) project to establish a master plan for Peru's national road management, which was launched in July 2024.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the project involves the proposal of a gradual introduction of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and the establishment of an integrated road management system to enhance Peru's transport infrastructure. This initiative aims to streamline and modernize road management in Peru, providing significant improvements in the efficiency and safety of transportation.
On Thursday, the delegation will proceed to Bogota, the capital of Colombia, to participate in a ceremony for a project led by Seoul that focuses on the digital transformation of Colombia's multipurpose land information system. South Korea has committed 4.6 billion won to support Colombia's land reform efforts, which is a critical national agenda item for the government in Bogota. The project is expected to facilitate better land management and planning in Colombia, contributing to the country's development goals.
