Busan: South Korea is set to host a significant meeting of energy ministers from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member nations in the southeastern port city of Busan next month. This announcement was made by the government on Tuesday, highlighting South Korea's role in facilitating discussions on pressing global energy concerns.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the APEC energy ministers' meeting is scheduled for August 27-28 in Busan, which is situated 325 kilometers southeast of Seoul. The gathering will bring together energy ministers from the 21 APEC economies to address global energy issues. Key topics on the agenda include power grid infrastructure, energy security, stable energy supply, and energy innovation driven by artificial intelligence.
In addition to the APEC meeting, South Korea plans to host several other significant events in the last week of August. These include the Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation Ministerial conference and the World Climate Industry Expo in Busan. These events aim to promote international discussions on carbon emission reduction efforts and explore the future of the energy industry.
