Student Wields Weapon at Cheongju High School, Injuring Six

Cheongju: A special education student attacked individuals with a weapon at a high school in Cheongju on Monday, resulting in injuries to six people, including a teacher, according to officials. The incident took place around 8:40 a.m. in the city, which is located approximately 110 kilometers south of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the victims of the attack were transported to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious, affecting areas such as the face and abdomen. Fortunately, officials confirmed that none of the injured are in critical condition. After the attack, the student attempted to flee by jumping into a nearby reservoir but was subsequently rescued and also transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities, including police and educational officials, are currently investigating the precise circumstances surrounding the incident to understand how and why it occurred.
