Seoul: A planned visit to South Korea by Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and other Swedish ministers has been postponed, diplomatic sources revealed on Wednesday. This decision follows the declaration and subsequent lifting of martial law by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.According to Yonhap News Agency, the top Swedish delegation was initially scheduled to arrive in Seoul on Thursday. However, due to the recent political upheaval in South Korea, the visit has been delayed, and a new date has yet to be determined. During the visit, Prime Minister Kristersson was set to engage in discussions with President Yoon and meet with other significant officials in Seoul.The Swedish government, in a statement released through its embassy in Seoul, emphasized the importance of resolving political differences through democratic means and the rule of law. It also expressed approval of the lifting of martial law in South Korea, describing it as a positive move.In light of these events, other diplomatic e ngagements involving South Korean officials have also been affected. First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun is cutting short his tour of Spain and Germany to return home promptly. Additionally, Second Vice Foreign Minister Kang In-sun has canceled her scheduled trip to the United Arab Emirates, where she was to participate in discussions on nuclear energy.
