Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co., KG Mobility Corp., and Stellantis Korea Co. will voluntarily recall over 42,000 vehicles to address various component defects, the transport ministry said Wednesday. The three companies are recalling a combined total of 42,388 units across four different models, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced in a press release.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the recalls were prompted by several defects, including a faulty charging door in Hyundai Motor’s Ioniq 6 model. Additionally, KG Mobility’s Musso EV is experiencing a possible power outage during driving due to a defective high-voltage control system. Furthermore, a malfunction in the power electric system of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, imported by Stellantis Korea, was identified as another critical issue.
Stellantis is a 50:50 joint venture formed through the merger of U.S. carmaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. and French automaker PSA Group. This collaboration brings together expertise from both companies to address any malfunctions and ensure vehicle safety.
Vehicle owners concerned about the recall can verify if their vehicles are affected by visiting the government website (www.car.go.kr) or contacting the helpline at 080-357-2500.
