Seoul: South Korea and the United States are in talks regarding a potential visit by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Seoul next month, a diplomatic source revealed on Friday. The discussions are centered around scheduling the visit to coincide with Rubio's trip to Malaysia for a meeting involving the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on July 10.
According to Yonhap News Agency, if the visit materializes, it would mark Rubio's first trip to South Korea since President Lee Jae Myung's inauguration earlier this month. The visit is anticipated to focus on discussions around defense cost-sharing, tariff negotiations, and planning for a summit between President Lee and U.S. President Donald Trump.
