Seoul: Unification Minister Chung Dong-young is set to visit Germany and Belgium next week with a focus on diplomatic engagements and policy discussions, according to his ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Chung’s visit will span from Sunday to the following Saturday, during which he will represent South Korea at the German Unity Day event on October 3. The event marks Germany’s reunification, and Chung aims to discuss North Korea and unification policies with German officials, seeking their support for South Korea’s stance.
Chung’s itinerary also includes participating in the 2025 Global Korea Forum in Germany. This forum will serve as a platform for dialogue with German and European Union officials regarding the Korean Peninsula’s issues.
Additionally, the minister will visit the Federal Agency for Civic Education in Germany. Here, he will engage in discussions about Germany’s political education model, specifically the Beutelsbach Consensus, which is a guideline for political education in Germany.
