Seoul: Vice foreign ministers of South Korea and Vietnam agreed to actively pursue more high-level exchanges between the two countries for a stronger bilateral partnership, the foreign ministry said Friday. First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo shared the understanding with his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Minh Vu, during their talks in Seoul, reaffirming the importance the two sides place on their partnership.
According to Yonhap News Agency, "The two vice ministers shared the view that promoting high-level exchanges is important for further strengthening and advancing the Korea-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership," the ministry said.
The vice ministers also discussed issues related to the Korean Peninsula. Park explained South Korea's efforts to ease tensions and build trust with North Korea. He also told his counterpart about Seoul's efforts to resume dialogue and make substantive progress on peace and North Korean issues. Vu expressed support for these efforts and said Vietnam would continue to cooperate going forward, according to the ministry.
