YAPEIM SPENT RM6 MLN TO BUILD AND REPAIR HOUSES – MOHD NA’IM

The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) has so far spent RM6 million on the construction of 155 new houses and home renovation projects nationwide through the Inspirasi MyHAUS programme.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the allocation benefited 604 households.

“For this year alone, YaPEIM allocated RM5 million for building and renovating houses,” he said after a symbolic presentation of new houses to two recipients here today.

Mohd Na’im said the two houses worth RM120,000 were handed over to Norazman Yang Hazali, 49, in Jalan Batu Matang and Ahmad Azudin Mat Salleh, 49, in Kampung Jaha.

Meanwhile, Norazman was grateful for being selected for the programme because he, his wife and two children have been renting homes for 21 years.

“Thank goodness, previously the rent went up every year but with this new house, we are able to save on house rent,” said Norazman, who runs a restaurant.

Norazman also received a Business Sustainability Assistance Package of up to RM3,000 in the form of equipment and cash from YaPEIM.

Earlier, Mohd Na’im also presented YaPEIM’s Sinar Kasih and Inspirasi Prihatin aid to four siblings who were orphaned when their parents died in a road accident at KM3.5 Jalan Gopeng-Kota Bharu in Gopeng on July 11.

They are Nur Fatin Syafika Mohd Ramddan, 18, Muhammad Ikhman Hafifi, 17, Muhammad Aiman Dania, 13, and Nur Fatihah Najihah, 10.
