Yoon, Cambodian PM to hold summit in Seoul this week

President Yoon Suk Yeol and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will hold a summit in Seoul this week, and discuss ways to enhance cooperation in defense, trade and other issues, the presidential office said Monday.

Hun Manet will pay a four-day official visit to South Korea starting Wednesday and hold the summit with Yoon on Thursday.

The two leaders plan to discuss ways to increase practical cooperation in various areas, including defense, trade, development and infrastructure construction, the presidential office said.

Yoon and Hun Manet previously held talks in Jakarta, Indonesia, last September on the margins of annual summits involving the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

The two agreed at the time to actively use the South Korea-Cambodia free trade agreement to further increase bilateral trade that reached a record US$1.05 billion in 2022.
