Seoul: The Seoul High Court announced on Thursday that former President Yoon Suk Yeol will be required to enter the third hearing of his criminal trial on insurrection charges next week via the ground parking lot, rather than the underground parking lot he had previously used.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon was granted access to the Seoul Central District Court through an underground parking lot for his earlier trial hearings in April, due to security concerns at the request of the former president. During the second hearing of the trial, Yoon was photographed in the defendant's seat.
The third session of Yoon's criminal trial is scheduled for Monday and will address his brief martial law declaration in December. Yoon was officially removed from office in early April after the Constitutional Court upheld his impeachment.
The court plans to restrict vehicle entry on the hearing day, with exceptions only for official cars assigned to specific tasks, starting from 8 p.m. Friday until midnight Monday. Court personnel have been advised to use public transportation and avoid using personal vehicles on that day.
