Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday visited a hospital in central Seoul for medical treatment after making his first appearance at his impeachment trial at the Constitutional Court, his lawyer said. Yoon and his escort vehicles departed from the court at 4:42 p.m. and traveled to the Armed Forces Seoul Capital District Hospital. The vehicles were spotted departing from the military hospital in the direction of the detention center hours later.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon's doctor had recommended medical treatment a month ago, which could no longer be delayed, prompting his visit to the hospital. Yoon's lawyer, Yun Gap-geun, confirmed the visit to reporters but declined to provide further details about the treatment.
The justice ministry also confirmed Yoon's trip to the hospital. They noted that the president had undergone a medical examination by the detention center's medical staff the previous day, who advised him to seek further evaluation at an external medical institution. However, the ministry chose not to disclose specifics of Yoon's treatment, citing concerns over personal information.
