Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday visited a hospital in central Seoul for medical treatment following his initial appearance at his impeachment trial at the Constitutional Court, his lawyer reported. Yoon's convoy departed the court at 4:42 p.m., making its way to the Armed Forces Seoul Capital District Hospital.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon returned to the Seoul Detention Center at 9:09 p.m., where investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials awaited to proceed with further questioning. Yoon's lawyer, Yun Gap-geun, conveyed to reporters that medical treatment had been recommended by Yoon's doctor a month ago and could no longer be postponed.
The justice ministry corroborated Yoon's hospital visit, stating that he had undergone a medical examination by the detention center's medical staff the previous day, with a recommendation to seek external medical care. However, the ministry withheld specific details regarding Yoon's treatment, citing concerns over personal information.
