Pocheon: Seven people were injured Thursday after a shell reportedly landed near a civilian house in the northern city of Pocheon, authorities said. Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 10 a.m. when a presumed shell fell on a road close to a house in the city, which is approximately 43 kilometers north of Seoul. The incident left seven people with injuries ranging from minor to serious and resulted in the destruction of a church and six other buildings in the village.
According to Yonhap News Agency, investigators are currently examining the origin of the shell, including the potential link to a military exercise taking place in the vicinity. The investigation aims to determine the circumstances that led to the shell's landing and assess any safety protocols that might need to be reviewed to prevent future occurrences.
