Hyundai Motor Targets 58,000 Units of Facelifted Palisade SUV Sales in South Korea for 2025

Seongnam: Hyundai Motor Co. announced plans to sell at least 58,000 units of its newly facelifted Palisade SUV in the South Korean market by focusing on its hybrid model and new nine-seat variant. The company made this announcement on Wednesday, highlighting its strategy to enhance domestic sales by leveraging these new features.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the facelifted Palisade arrives six years after the model's initial launch in November 2018. The 2.5 turbo gasoline version was released on Wednesday, with the hybrid model expected in the second quarter. This revamped version features a longer body and increased interior space, aiming to provide improved comfort and functionality.

Lee Chul-min, head of Hyundai's domestic marketing division, expressed confidence in meeting the company's sales goal, citing strong preorder numbers. During a media event in Seongnam, he noted that the target of 58,000 units surpasses the debut success of the first-generation Palisade, which sold 52,299 units in its first year in South Korea.

Preorders for the latest Palisade SUV are robust, with 33,567 contracts recorded on the first day of availability on December 20, and total preorders reaching approximately 45,000. A significant feature of the new model is the nine-seat variant, which offers a flexible seating configuration by folding back the console between the driver and front passenger seats.

Jeon Eun-seok, the project lead for the Palisade model, mentioned that the vehicle's concept focuses on inclusivity, making it adaptable to various family types and lifestyles. The hybrid variant introduces Hyundai's next-generation 2.5 turbo system, delivering a maximum output of 334 horsepower and a driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, based on internal measurements.
