S. Korea Lowers Travel Advisory for Parts of Israel, Excluding Gaza

Seoul: The foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that it is reducing the travel alert level for certain parts of Israel, excluding the Gaza Strip. This decision seems to be in response to the current regional circumstances following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Hamas group.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the advisory, which was previously at Level 3-urging departure from the country-will now be downgraded to Level 2. This level advises people to refrain from visiting the region rather than mandating their exit.

However, the ministry clarified that the Level 4 travel ban will remain in effect for the Gaza Strip and areas near the Lebanese border. Additionally, a Level 3 alert will still apply to the West Bank and certain northern regions of Israel.
