Seoul: Jin, a member of the K-pop sensation BTS, emphasized his dedication to preserving the unique and sometimes inconvenient features of the bed and breakfast depicted in the Netflix variety show "Kian's Bizarre B and B." He believes these aspects are crucial to the show's identity.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Jin defended the original concept of the program during a press event in Seoul, stating, "When suggestions for changes came up, I argued against them because they weren't in line with the program's original direction." However, he agreed with making modifications necessary for the safety of crew members and guests.
"Kian's Bizarre B and B" is a travel reality show featuring TV personality and artist Kim Hee-min, also known as Kian84, who operates a quirky guesthouse on Ulleung Island. Jin and actress Ji Ye-eun join him as staff members. Netflix has successfully brought Kian84's imaginative B and B concept to life, adhering to his vision with unusual features like outdoor beds and a fire pole connecting the two floors.
Kian84 explained his intention behind creating the deliberately inconvenient environment, saying, "If you stay in a conventionally good place, you will, of course, like it but later you might not have strong memories." He aimed to create a space that encourages guest interaction, leading to memorable experiences.
He further noted that features such as the fire pole, serving as the sole connection between floors, were designed to promote cooperation among guests and staff, likening the B and B to a blend of a lodge and a military barracks.
