Kia Launches IT Education Center in Bingerville to Enhance Digital Skills in Youths

Bingerville: Kia Corp. announced the opening of a new youth information technology (IT) education center in Ivory Coast, aimed at promoting digital literacy and empowering young people in developing regions. This initiative is part of Kia's commitment to support education and skill development in underserved communities.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the center located in Bingerville is designed to tackle the issue of limited access to IT education in Ivory Coast. It will provide a comprehensive six-month program that includes four months of basic digital literacy training followed by two months of specialized IT instruction. This curriculum will be available until June 2027.

The IT education center is a component of Kia's Green Light Project (GLP), which was established in 2012. The project aims to provide essential programs and infrastructure across various sectors such as economy, education, health care, and the environment, specifically targeting communities in need.

The opening ceremony for the center took place on Wednesday and was attended by notable figures including Moussa Diarrassouba, deputy minister of family, Jeon Soo-jin, consul of the Korean embassy, and executives from Kia. The event marked a significant step in Kia's ongoing efforts to support global education initiatives.

Kia has previously implemented similar projects under the GLP initiative in 15 countries, including Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Albania, and Vietnam, reaching approximately 1 million people. The automaker continues to expand its efforts to provide educational and vocational resources in regions where they are most needed.
