HD KSOE Secures 834.8 Billion-Won Container Ship Contract from Oceania

Seoul: HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) announced that it has won a contract worth 834.8 billion won (US$610.6 million) to build four container ships for a shipping company located in Oceania.

According to Yonhap News Agency, under the terms of the agreement, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. will each construct two vessels. The deliveries are planned to take place in phases, extending through the year 2028.

This recent acquisition has elevated HD KSOE's order book for the year to a total of 80 vessels, cumulatively valued at $11.11 billion. This achievement represents 61.5 percent of the company's annual order target of $18.05 billion.

HD KSOE operates as a subholding company within the HD Hyundai conglomerate, which spans industries from shipbuilding to machinery. The company comprises three affiliates: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co.
