Tokyo: President Lee Jae Myung has announced his intention to implement a three-stage denuclearization plan for North Korea, emphasizing the importance of dialogue with Pyongyang and maintaining a strong alliance with the United States.
According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee discussed his strategy in an interview with Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun before his scheduled summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo. He outlined the first stage of the plan as a freeze on North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
In the subsequent stages, President Lee aims to focus on the reduction and eventual dismantling of North Korea's nuclear capabilities.
