Seoul: The new Japanese animated film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -- The Movie: Infinity Castle" has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 1 million admissions within its first two days of release, setting this year's fastest box-office record, as revealed by data on Sunday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the film, which debuted on Friday, drew in over 1.15 million viewers on Friday and Saturday. This impressive feat makes it the fastest movie to reach the 1 million admission mark in 2023, achieving the milestone twice as quickly as the previous record holder, "My Daughter is a Zombie," which required four days.
The action-adventure film marks the first installment of a new trilogy, adapting the final eight volumes of Koyoharu Gotouge's acclaimed manga series. Prior to its premiere, the film had already established a presale record with 920,000 tickets sold, indicating strong anticipation and enthusiasm from audiences.
