Seoul: Seo Yoo-seok, chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA), met with Koichi Matsushita, the head of the Japan Investment Trusts Association (JITA), on Friday to discuss ways to promote cooperation between their countries, KOFIA said.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the heads of the two countries' financial investment industry groups met at the KOFIA headquarters in Seoul and agreed to partner in the development of financial products and the exchange of information and personnel.
Seo stated that the countries have the potential to mutually benefit from the cooperation, given their geographical proximity, as well as the similar histories of their respective capital markets. "When we combine Japan's rich experience in the asset management industry with the innovative capability of Korea, we could create new growth drivers in Asia's capital markets," he added.
