Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a mix of gains and losses today, reflecting varied performances among its listed companies. Notably, several firms witnessed significant changes in their stock prices, both upwards and downwards.
According to Yonhap News Agency, NHIS saw a decrease of 600 in its stock price, closing at 20,800. Samsung Electronics also experienced a decline, with its price going down by 600 to settle at 97,500. On the other hand, KEPCO E and C recorded a substantial rise of 9,800, closing at 106,000.
In the construction sector, GS E and C's stock price went up by 140, reaching 18,630, whereas Dongwon Industries saw a decline of 750, ending at 41,900. DB Insurance and Hyundai Glovis also faced downturns, with their prices dropping by 1,800 to close at 130,800 and 164,900, respectively.
The technology sector showed mixed results. Samsung Electronics Mechanics saw an increase of 3,500, closing at 216,000, while NAVER witnessed a decline of 3,500, ending at 254,500. Meanwhile, NCsoft and Kakao both experienced gains, each rising by 3,500 to close at 205,500 and 62,300, respectively.
Among other notable movements, HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering saw a significant increase of 15,000, closing at 438,500. Hanwha Aerospace also reported a notable rise, with its stock price increasing by 21,000 to settle at 974,000. Conversely, Samsung C and T experienced a decline of 3,500, ending at 204,500.
The financial sector saw IBK's stock price increase by 60, closing at 19,440, while Hana Financial Group experienced a slight decrease of 100, ending at 88,300. Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a day of varied performances across its sectors.
