Seoul: Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang is set to meet with South Korea's top business tycoons this week on the margins of his participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, industry sources said Tuesday. Huang, who will attend the APEC CEO Summit in the southeastern city of Gyeongju this week, is expected to visit a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the launch of the GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU) in Seoul on Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Nvidia CEO will then hold a meeting with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Samsung Electronics Co. Chairman Lee Jae-yong at an undisclosed location in the capital city. During the meeting, they are expected to discuss potential business cooperation in areas including semiconductors, software-defined vehicles, and robotics. Other possible agenda items include the potential supply of Samsung Electronics' high bandwidth memory (HBM) chips to Nvidia. The South Korean chipmaker's fifth-generation HBM recently completed quality tests by Nvidia.
The three officials previously met in Washington in August on the sidelines of a summit between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump.
