Seoul: The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that it has formally requested Major League Baseball (MLB) to post All-Star infielder Song Sung-mun. This move opens the door for Song to potentially join one of the MLB's 30 clubs.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Kiwoom Heroes, Song's KBO team, initiated the request by approaching the KBO. Following this, the league promptly notified MLB about Song's availability. The established agreement between the KBO and MLB outlines that once a player is posted, MLB teams have a 30-day window to negotiate a contract with the player.
The Heroes further detailed that this negotiation window is set to begin at 8 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Saturday, the day after MLB clubs are informed. It will remain open until 5 p.m. ET on December 21. This provides MLB teams sufficient time to engage with Song and potentially bring him into the league.
