Burger Chain Lotteria Opens First U.S. Outlet

Orange county: Lotteria, the burger chain operated by Lotte Group affiliate Lotte GRS Co., announced the opening of its first outlet in the United States as part of its overseas expansion strategy. The new location began operations in Orange County, California, on August 14, marking a significant step for the company approximately two years after establishing its U.S. subsidiary.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lotteria’s Chief Executive Officer, Cha Woo-chul, expressed the company’s ambition to extend beyond the Asian markets and introduce Lotteria’s taste and value to the American burger market. The company is considering increasing the number of outlets in the U.S., contingent upon market demand.

Lotte GRS currently operates approximately 1,000 outlets in South Korea and 320 outlets overseas. This includes 258 locations in Vietnam, 50 in Myanmar, six in Laos, and six in Mongolia. Additionally, the company plans to open its first outlet in Malaysia later this year, with an aim to expand its presence to 30 locations within five years.
