Giants’ Lee Extends Hitting Streak to Six Games; Dodgers’ Kim Benched in Loss

Washington: Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has pushed his hitting streak to six games. Lee went 1-for-4 with a single in the Giants' 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in the U.S. capital on Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee is now on the third-longest hitting streak of the season. He had an eight-game run from March 29 to April 7, and a seven-game streak from April 23 to 30. Lee is batting .281/.327/.458 for the season. He leads the Giants with 57 hits and 14 doubles.

Lee got his only hit of the game in the top of the sixth inning against starter Michael Soroka, pulling a first-pitch fastball to right field. Lee had flied out in the first inning, with left fielder Alex Call making a diving grab in foul territory, and then grounded out to third baseman Amed Rosario in the third inning. Lee flied out to center in his final at-bat in the eighth inning.

Also on Sunday, Kim Hye-seong of the Los Angeles Dodgers remained on the bench in his team's 3-1 loss to the New York Mets at Citi Field in the Big Apple.
