Kielce: Hanwha Aerospace Co. announced its collaboration with Poland's Military Institute of Armament Technology (WITU) to certify key components of its 155-millimeter ammunition manufactured in Poland.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Hanwha Aerospace and WITU on Thursday at the MSPO 2025 defense industry exhibition held in Kielce, Poland. WITU, which operates under Poland's defense ministry, specializes in testing, evaluating, and certifying ammunition, warheads, and various weapons systems.
The partnership aims to jointly certify components of the 155-mm ammunition, facilitate exchanges of scientific and technical personnel, and explore potential joint research and development projects. Hanwha Aerospace emphasized that this collaboration will aid in securing local ammunition certification for the Polish military's self-propelled howitzers and pave the way for establishing an ammunition production base within Europe.
Additionally, earlier this week, Hanwha Aerospace entered into an agreement with WB Group, Poland's largest defense company, to create a joint venture for producing guided missiles for the Chunmoo multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) in Poland.
