Seoul: Wednesday's trading session on the Korea Stock Exchange witnessed a significant uptrend in the KOSPI 200 index, with numerous stocks closing higher. Among the key performers, SeAH Steel Holdings remained unchanged at KRW 142,900, while Daewoong saw a notable increase, closing at KRW 21,950, up by KRW 1,050.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several companies experienced gains, including KG Mobility, which rose by KRW 60 to close at KRW 3,295. SamyangFood saw a significant rise of KRW 24,000, landing at KRW 1,421,000. POSCO INTERNATIONAL also witnessed an upswing, ending the session at KRW 50,500, marking an increase of KRW 1,000. In the consumer goods sector, CJ CheilJedang closed at KRW 233,000, up by KRW 1,500, while TaekwangInd climbed by KRW 10,000 to close at KRW 836,000.
Other notable gainers included LG Corp., which increased by KRW 400 to reach KRW 72,600, and POSCO FUTURE M, which surged by KRW 7,500 to end at KRW 174,200. LOTTE Fine Chem and Hyundai Steel also recorded increases, closing at KRW 46,000 and KRW 32,900, respectively. Meanwhile, Shinsegae experienced a decline, closing at KRW 174,500, down by KRW 1,500.
The food and beverage sector saw Nongshim rise by KRW 3,500 to settle at KRW 432,500. SGBC and SBHC also posted gains, closing at KRW 62,900 and KRW 25,850, respectively. Taihan Cable and Solution saw an uptick of KRW 250, finishing at KRW 17,490. Hyundai M and F INS closed at KRW 27,700, marking an increase of KRW 200, while S-Oil dropped by KRW 800 to close at KRW 65,500.
LG Innotek was among the top gainers, surging by KRW 12,600 to close at KRW 196,200. HMM saw a slight decline, ending at KRW 20,350, down by KRW 50. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp climbed by KRW 1,100 to close at KRW 68,600, and HYUNDAI WIA ended at KRW 49,450, up by KRW 600. KumhoPetrochem and SKC also showed increases, closing at KRW 109,500 and KRW 106,500, respectively.
MIRAE ASSET SEC recorded a gain of KRW 900, closing at KRW 21,450. KEPCO ended the session at KRW 39,350, up by KRW 1,650, while SamsungSecu rose by KRW 2,600, closing at KRW 74,900. SKTelecom and Hyundai Elevator also marked increases, ending at KRW 54,100 and KRW 82,600, respectively. DONGSUH closed at KRW 26,650, up by KRW 700.
SamsungE and A rose by KRW 200 to close at KRW 28,300, while PanOcean saw a slight decline, ending at KRW 3,695, down by KRW 35. SAMSUNG C and T recorded one of the largest gains, surging by KRW 11,200 to close at KRW 206,000. SAMSUNG CARD and LOTTE WELLFOOD also ended higher, closing at KRW 49,300 and KRW 111,800, respectively.
KT climbed by KRW 750 to finish at KRW 49,350, and HD Hyundai Infracore saw an increase of KRW 710, closing at KRW 15,160. Hanwha Ocean also performed well, rising by KRW 2,000 to end the session at KRW 105,100.
